New Mac download frustrations.

So, I'm using a new Mac with Windows 7 on one partition and the Mac OS on the other. Mostly I love it except for the tweaking I've gotta do to get things on the Windows side back where I want it. that, and the keyboard action isn't what it was on my old Dell. I'm also using the latest rendition of WindowEyes. The problem I'm having now is that downloading doesn't appear to be as easy as it once was when I was running my old machine. I hit enter on the download link and it just stalls or goes back to the page with the download link and doesn't bring up the prompt to download. . It's very frustrating because I want to start downloading books again from BARD, and re-install my Vipmud software from GMA Games, just to name a few things. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.--J

Sorry gang. You can actually disregard this posting as I've discovered Firefox is infinitely better for downloading. Thanks in advance though.

If you are speaking of Internet Explorer, this is a feature of the later versions, which come with windows 7. To download a file, you click the link and press alt+n to reach the information bar. That is where you find the open, save, cancel, and view downloads buttons.

Thanks Synthesizer. Starfly, as for your problem, I got some sighted assistance with mine, because my Mac side didn't speak the rest of the prompts, so maybe you're better off doing that. Hate to say that though, since I'm one of the biggest I-can-do-it-all-myself-ers there are.
